Mataderos Tower

As part of a masterplan for the areas surrounding the Mataderos fair, a mixed-use tower is projected. A commercial base level, two office floors and 20 apartment floors with between 2 and 4 rooms. The progressive rotation of floors allows a stereotomic morphology of overhangs and undercuts. The expansions are projected outwards in volumes, providing solar protection to the walls of dormitories and living rooms. The shops and offices are organized in a perimeter plinth that adopts the scale of the neighborhood. The common spaces are projected on the top floor, providing views of the fair and the city, and finishing off the volume.
